Longtime subscribers and new enlistees both got a pleasant surprise in last Saturday’s Wall Street Journal newspaper, a newly launched magazine appropriately called WSJ was inserted into the regular newspaper. The official launch date of the news and lifestyle magazine was in early September 2008. This edition is actually issue 7 for the U.S. but it is the first issue, according to the editor's letter, to be "truly global."

Glossy Magazine

With reports of print advertising making a comeback, it would seem to be a perfect time to launch such a venture. The magazine is big, glossy, and filled with great photographs, and of course the exceptionally written content from a host of contributors.

Once again, reading the editor’s letter on page 12, she states that circulation is 1.6 million. This issue contained stories from a diverse list of topics including car collecting, fashion, a profile of a cosmetics empire couple, social networking, and a feature on vodka.
